About BHSRA
BHSRA stands for BCP Homes Sheltered Accommodation Residents' Association. It is a new residents' association being formed by and for tenants of BCP Homes sheltered accommodation schemes in Bournemouth. It gives residents a formal, recognised voice in decisions that affect their homes and support – and helps build a stronger sense of community between neighbours.

Beyond BCP Homes’ own schemes, Bournemouth is well served by organisations supporting older residents more broadly. Age UK Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset offers help at home, footcare, free advice, and community groups aimed specifically at reducing isolation. The town’s own coastal setting and its network of level, well-maintained walking routes are also widely recognised as genuinely beneficial for staying active in later life.
